Fix those Pliers
Found rusty pair of Pliers in on old toolbox. being raised 'waste not, want not', i figured i would enter the contest. WD40 is an excellent product but for projects like this it needs one more critical ingredient, Time. so thats why it took five days, but mission accomplished without breaking of a handle.
Step 1
Very rusty originally. As can be seen in closeup, jaw separation line isn't even visible.
Step 2
Hose down pliers with WD40, getting them soaked from every angle. I also feel that it helps to tap on rusted up stuff after WD40 application to help it penetrate into gaps. And wrapping up pliers in a plastic bag so they stay wet.
Step 3
After soaking for 3 days inside a bag, still wont move so we have to get serious. Wire brush to loose rust and soak in a cup of WD40.
Step 4
After another days soak submerged in what we also call Wiesel Juice (WD40), could now with minimal effort begin working the pliers. after a couple minutes they could be opened and closed with one hand. Another pair of pliers saved.....
