Diesel project
As a Second year automotive apprentice, I decided to take on a project truck. I bought an 06 dodge 2500 diesel with a blown transmission and planned to rebuild the transmission myself. The truck ended up needing alot more work. I still did all the work myself (other than the welding). I Rebuilt the transmission, transfer case, front end suspension, new batteries, exhaust and more. Most of the parts on this truck were original from 2006 and had never been removed before. WD40 saved my sanity and allowed me to remove the rusted and seized bolts on this truck. The front suspension was the worst, especially the Pitman arm nut attaching it to the gear box! I doused all of it in WD40 and got the whole suspension upgraded on 1 Saturday. As a female in the trades, I always run into people who doubt my abilities as a mechanic, but I feel this project has shown my abilities and I feel so proud of myself for completing my first project. The truck is now back on the road and running smoothly with the help of WD40!
